The War on Perspective

I had a different blog planned for today, but my heart is so broken over the events of what took place last night in Washington DC that blog will have to wait. Last night I watched an hour of footage on Instagram of BLM and Antifa harassing and assaulting Trump supporters who were on their way back to their hotels for the evening. I popped over to Twitter this morning to see if any news outlet had covered the hour of violent attacks I saw and this is what I found.

Lies. 2.7 million votes have been changed from Trump to Biden using hacked Dominion machines. This election IS being stolen. The violence started much earlier as Trump supporters were being harassed all day long. Women, children, and the elderly were attacked and bleeding well before 8pm. These “counter protests” came to DEFEND the innocent people who were being attacked. Our media has betrayed us and it doesn’t look like they are going to stop. I have posted some of the videos on my twitter account.

My heart is broken today. It is broken for this country. It is broken for the people who see the truth but are being silenced. It is broken for the people who don’t see the truth and for whatever reason, when faced with glimpses of it, refuse to accept it as truth. It is broken for the world because America staying free is not just for the benefit of Her own citizens, but for the world. She is the ONLY free nation, the ONLY refuge for people who want the opportunities to really see what they are able to accomplish in life. She has always been and still is the safe place for people from around the world to escape their own corrupt, oppressive, and overbearing governments. If America loses her freedom, the WORLD loses the only safe place it has.

I was raised in Christianity, I left the faith for many reasons, but what I am seeing now only solidifies the aspects of my former faith that I still hold to be true today. Specifically Love.

1 Corinthians 13:4–8 NIV
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

I’m not going to try to convince you that Trump supporters have been the perfect picture of love or that Trump himself has, because he has not. But I will make a compelling argument that whatever it is BLM and Antifa thinks they are doing is pure evil. They are so overcome with jealousy, rage, and ignorance no amount of truth seems to reach their charred angry hearts.

But why are they angry? Because black criminals who resist arrest are getting shot? Because the media is telling them they are targets of “white supremacy”? Because when the vastly diverse Proud Boys show up to defend the innocent people they are attacking, Proud Boys kicks their asses? Or because the number one killer of black men is… black men and they simply do not want to or are not able to take responsibility to fix their own communities? The lies are so many and so tangled it is no wonder that those who are privileged enough to choose not to care can’t see the Truth.

“Seek and you shall find”
Mathew 7:7

You do not have to believe in anything to know that when you look for something you will find it. When you look for racism you will find it. When you look for love you will find it. When you look for opportunity you will find it. When you look for reasons not to try you will find them. This is a fact of life as true as gravity. America is only a racist nation if we seek to find it so.

BLM has brought this effort to the forefront of every American mind. They have made America a racist nation when it had worked tirelessly against racism for decades. They are the victims of nothing more than their own self destructive search to blame everyone but themselves. This is quite literally dark versus light and they are the ones who have made it so.

Yet my heart breaks for them too. No amount of power, or money, or control will ever heal the hearts of those who seek to find who or what has wronged them instead of seeking to find a life of possibilities. This is where “Jesus” comes into play. “Jesus” is not just the son of God or a prophet in the Judeo-Christian religions. “Jesus” is a symbol of Truth. He represents the shifting of one’s perspective from hopelessness, self-hatred, and destruction to that of hope, faith, love, forgiveness, kindness, and patience… basically 1 Corinthians 13. This shift in perspective, however, requires a self-sacrificing death of the old perspective. You have to be willing to let the hate and anger die in order for new life to grow. Personally, I prefer the symbol of the phoenix as it’s just more fun, but I think Jesus is the symbol that best speaks to the complexities of the heart. Whatever your Jesus is it is time to activate it in order to shift our perspectives to one of Love.

We are about to face much more adversity. The road is going to get much harder to walk on and in the face of it all we must remember just how lost BLM is. They have turned their destructive efforts on others thinking this will save them, but it will not. Only a shift in their perspective will save them. America has everything to offer them if only they are willing to see it and do the work that is required to earn it, like most Americans have done. Nothing is free except our ability to shift from a perspective of dark jealousy to that of light hopefulness.
